Description
These buttons are from a large estate lot I was lucky enough to find. They are from AAA Novelty, which went out of business in 1965. They made my least favorite Nixon/Kennedy buttons from 1960 and one of my all-time favorites, the Goldwater lenticular that exhorts Lady Bird to "start packing". This button is 1 1/4" and a "celluloid" button rather than a cheaper litho. You can see from the back photo that it is a colleted button and much thicker than modern buttons. Some have a bit of foxing or scratches, but they have been in that bag for 55 years with their pins sticking out. I tried to take some side photos so you could see that the buttons still retain their sheen after six decades. The design is retro cool and the sentiment certainly captures this moment in America. Consider, these buttons were made before the Civil Rights Act and only ten years after Brown vs. the Board. A piece of history you can wear. If you are looking to start or extend a movement, I have hundreds you can get cheap. I mean really cheap. 100 for or 1,000 for 0.
