A lot of two (2)....Kamakura, Japan c.1925....
A 96 year old
postcard image showing the
Kōtoku-in, the Great bronze Buddha statue at Kōtoku-in,
originally built in 1252. Since then the statue has been destroyed and rebuilt many times....In 1923 the Great Kanto Earthquake partially destroyed the stone base of the structure.

orignal envelope
from the set the card came from....*

he interesting aspect
of these two items is that
the envelope's image and the postcard are different in details although the publisher/photographer used only one photo.
...*In the envelope image, the
left and right side of the stone base is supported by wood struts.
....while in the actual postcard image that part of the damaged base had been
touched up
to show a completed stone base.
The card is in fine
condition
, the envelope is in very good condition... not posted.......
